CAO's Lx2 proves the strong-but-silent type.

Fall 2008 , Page 18

Are you that special type of individual who regularly drinks industrial-grade hot sauce directly from the bottle? Who slams your foot against the gas pedal of your car in frustration at its slowness...even when driving a Viper at 117 mph? For those daredevils and kindred sensation-aholics, CAO International has introduced the Lx2, or "Ligero-times-two" -- a cigar whose full-bodied nature will never be mistaken for "three-quarters strength." With a Nicaraguan wrapper, Honduran binder and ligero filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, the cigar brings taste notes of earthiness, combined with a clear -- but not overwhelming -- hit of spice.

The successor to the company's Mx2 ("Maduro-times-two," and no slouch in the strength-and-flavor department either) and Cx2 ("Cameroon-times...," you get the idea), the Lx2 was inspired by the strong-but-sweet tobacco from Pueblo Nuevo, a 140-acre Nicaraguan farm that grows leaf for both CAO and Toraño. The emphasis here, in other words, is on full strength and full flavor -- and on something that'll finally satisfy those Schwarzenegger taste buds of yours.
