The Cigar Fan
Collecting and smoking premium cigars is one of my favorite pastimes. I've traveled to a variety of cigar-growing countries (including Cuba), spoken with dozens of cigar makers and have researched the industry for articles I've published in Golf Magazine, European Cigar Journal and Cargo magazine. When I'm not talking about cigars I'm hanging out with my three favorite girls: my wife Susan and my beautiful daughters Tess and Elinor.

A Holiday Season to Remember
I don't care what the lyrics of that Christmas classic say: It's the most 'nostalgic' time of the year.

Cigars in a Time of Crisis
This will no doubt go down as one of the most remarkable years in history, for better and for worse. We just elected a new president who, like him or not, is expected to bring new life and energy to Washington, D.C. and the rest of the country.

We are down to the wire, and the media is leading us all to believe that the race for president of the United States remains a relatively close one.

Cigars, Oktober and Gemütlichkeit
If you haven't experienced one of your local Oktoberfest events (I'm talking about the U.S. ones), I really suggest you give them a try this year. They start in late-September and run through October, depending on where you are. No matter where you live, this is the best time of year to spend a day outside drinking a few brews, eating brats and smoking cigars.

Cigar Tips for the Golf Course
There are few things more enjoyable to a golfer who smokes cigars than lighting up on the course. And with the proliferation of smoking bans around the country, especially in such states as Florida and California, the golf course has become one of the last great sanctuaries for cigar aficionados. What better reason then to ensure that your golf cigar experience is the best it can be.

Try Something New for a Change
Have you tried a new cigar lately? Have you walked into a cigar shop, told the owner what you like to smoke and asked (in your own words, of course), if there's anything new on the market that matches the flavor, look and feel of your favorite brand? If you haven't, this is really a great time of year to give it a shot.

The Greatest Cigar Smoker of All Time Who Never Was
When you think of history's top aficionados, Churchill, Kennedy, Castro and Ruth are just a few of the names that come to mind. But I want to add a name no one associates with cigar smoking -- and that's because he rarely did.

The Masters, Cigars And the Rites of Spring
One of the great stories this year at the Masters had little to do with Tiger or South African sensation Trevor Immelman. No, this story is about Miguel Angel Jimenez, who opened the Masters with a 77--practically taking himself out of contention on day one. Jimenez did pull himself together on Friday by and gutting out a 70 and miraculously making the cut.
